Your Legal Obligation

The overriding consideration must always be the safety of the staff and visitors.

In the event of an explosion or bomb blast you will be protecting your staff from serious injury by ensuring that the glass in your windows is held in place.

Over 90% of all injuries in a blast is from flying glass.

Your company will return to 'business-as-usual' much faster, which secures your reputation, and at best secures your company's survival. 90% of companies who lose their IT infrastructure go bust within 2 years.

If you are unlucky enough to suffer a blast or explosion then your preparation and contingency plans are very likely to come under scrutiny.

Putting blast mitigation window film in place is not a legal requirement, but is highly recommended. It demonstrates your commitment to providing a safe environment.

In any subsequent inquiries or court proceedings, you would need to show that you took the relevant legislation into account (Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, SI 1999/3242 reg 8).
